The Black Sea's jewel in the crown.
The Eastern Europeans have already discovered this fantastic seaside city, and continue to visit Varna rather than the more expensive, commercialised, package holiday resorts like Sunny Beach & Golden Sands.
Inexpensive, friendly and fun.
Back again in summer 2014.
i've been to many touristic cities in the world, varna is the most beautiful sea city to me. climate is wonderful, people are friendly, prices of products are still not expensive, there are many places to go. the only thing that i don't like is the wondering of the gipsy gangs in the centre of varna, they are cheating, stealling and teasing tourists, more over they are giving bad impression of the local people of varna. varna is my dream city and i'll keep going no matter are the disadvantages.
I stayed in varna last month. The city is interesting and there are a lot of sightseeings. I think i am going in July again. It is interesting to know local people and there culture. I rent a car to drive along the Black Sea coast, resorts. It was great. Anyway I was surprise almost everythimg in Bulgaria. In the good way , you know.
I hope I wii have again great time in Varna.
We visited Varna when we were on holday in Sunny Beach and it was ace. Lots of historical stuff which was really interesting and friendly helpful Bulgarians. Going back to Bulgaria again this year , cant wait and will deffo go back to Varna

Just got back from the best entertaining, friendly, controversial, surealistic but relax city in "Europe". Had the time of my life. 3 weeks of real fun, excitment, sun, great food, beautiful and communicative people! Met great souls, talented and warm and intelligent people, who are in love with music. Though their english is limited, I've had endless entertaining conversations. Can't wait to go back next year! Even got myself a beautifull tattoo. Souvenir, souvenir.
VARNA YOU EITHER LOVE IT OR HATE IT ,AND I LOVE IT VARNA CITY CENTRE IS VERY COSMOPOLITAN THE PEOPLE, BARS, CLUBS AND SHOPS ARE THE BEST NOT FORGETTING THE GYPSY MARKET FOR YOUR SNIDE GEAR, IVE NOW BROUGHT AN APPARTMENT IN THE CENTRE, THE ATMOSPHERE IS THE BEST GOING BACK SEPT 2005

I have seen a lot of places (like Miami South Beach with the MANGO and so on... ) but nowhere is the service so near to the clients like in Varna in the discos and nightclubs on the beach. You will not find another place on this earth, where you can be yourself and will be accepted like this in every case.
And no matter how much does it will cost one day, I will go there every summer, because I miss the Black Sea and the nature of these people. When there are some guys writing bad about there holidays they are really pitch birds, because they doesn´t know really something about this great area. We people mostly remember the bad things and I wouldn´t be surprised, when there were things, were really impressing during the holidays of this guys as well. - most of the people don't speak a known laguage (frensh english), taxi drivers try to exploite u, hotels 3* G sands are extremely unfriendly !!! try to blackmail u if u bring a girl overnight. bouncers in nightclubs are more like terroristes do not respect anybody will walk on u just to reach the 1 behind u anyway good 4 experience and cheap tour
Very dirty, trash is everywhere...everybody smokes ciggarets in public places...otherwise is a very beautful place with friendly people. Very cheap and good food. Will go back in the future.
Hey, I went to Varna last summer with my girlfriend and i had a blast. Way more fun than back here in the states. we spent just about every night or so down at club EXIT. Anyways we're coming back this summer and we can't wait........
I am a student in Varna and I am Bulgarian as u might suppose, but I have travelled a lot in the whole world and now i study as Erasmus in Spain. Varna is a great place to go during summer! all the comments I read are true - club Exit and the dancing on the bar is something I miss so much in Spain now! The people are great, most of them speak a lot of languages especially English and German, and for the western Europeans it is extremely cheap there. of course life is not only a fiesta and it is kind of hard for the locals (looking at the economics of Bulgaria) but if you leave a tip no matter how small it might be they will be very grateful and as they are always friendly they will try to help you even if they don't speak your language. beautiful women-oh my God, all the foreigners that visit us say that. We are used to it anyway..come here and u won't be sorry! whoever comes always comes back!
I like the place so much I am trying to buy it all. I went from Dubrovnik to the Arctic Circle last year - Split was good, Prague OK, Warsaw artistic, Budapest rotten, Norway was the most friendly but ..... Varna beats them all.... beach, sea gardens , pedestrain city and (generally) very civilised people. I will keep my London base but I have found a less stressful second home.

Wha more can u want , keep out of the tourist trail , explore on your own, and Varna will reveal it s secrets for you. As for the nightlife.. It s (bad word) incredible , especially if you are tall, blond , and handsome like myself ;). Do not listen to what other people may say, just go!!
You cant judge a whole town by a long weekend and the exact are you stay in but I would say Varna is a fantastic place. So relaxed and friendly. The Sea gardens and the beach were good. Walking around at night I felt totally safe even pissed out my face at 4am! The people I came across were friendly and proud, saw no signs of hassle or aggression and even the local tramp who wandered round with his belongings in a little cart had more dignity and pride than the drunken/druggy scroungers on British streets. The bars shut when the last person leaves and the beer is good and cheap. I cant wait to go back.
Yo, wasaap... I was born in Varna and I lived there for 15 years. Now I live in Cali, US, but every summer I go back home to visit my country, see friends and relatives, but mostly for the nightlife and the beautiful beaches. Varna is the best party place for those of you who want to have wild fun and experience the wildest dances in clubs like Exit, Cocaracha, Avenue and Extravaganza. Loud music until you see the sun, LOTS of drinks and party people... what more would you want for you SUMMER VACATION => come and see what we're all talking about :)) Enjoy.
Varna: Mostly mass tourism, expensive hotels, lousy service, dirty water, disney beach with "post-socialist charm", people can be friendly or yery unfriendly. I wouldn't recommend this place not for travellors, but for all-inclusive tourists.
I've spend my holidays in Varna this summer and I love bulgarian girls. The nightlife is very good in Cucharacia disco to dance all kind of music, for guys and dolls the EXIT disco is the best to dance Hip Hop. I'm an italian man and I want to come back in Varna for the extraordinary people.
