All entertainment was in german (we wasn't told this when we booked) all food was german and all staff didn't speak english. we was woken up every morning at 10am with german entertainment from the pool area. All inclusive deals were terrible drinks had a very low choice for adults and children and snacks were only served between 12pm-2pm and it was always pizza with parmasan cheese everyday. Was this review helpful to you? YesNoDelta Beach Hotelnatalia | 1 out of 1 found this review helpfulThis is a mere Soviet type children camp of a minus-four-star category. Insanitary conditions, dirty dishes, poor food, broken furniture and swimming pool equipment, discourtesy of staff, bed sheets with holes, balcony doors impossible to lock, money stealing from rooms, all-through-the night heavy noise from adjacent discos will be waiting for you there. These sad memories are very fresh - from August 2014Was this review helpful to you? YesNoDelta Beach HotelDaniel Lloyd | 1 out of 1 found this review helpfulMy family have had a holiday in this hotel for the two week AI package. reading these comments leads me to making one also.
Our stay was actually quite pleasent. The rooms are spacious and actually quite clean. Our only problem was also with the food although we did think that they tried to make a conscious effort to cater for the english visitors particuarly in the second week. ie specials were put on like Liver and onions which only the english seemed to be eating.
Although everything did seem geared to the german tourist (which was a shame) overall i would rate ([+]view more) the accomadation 4stars as the brochure states although it should have identified that the hotel is PRIMARY german. the staff however, were found to be rude at times. We had an incident with our towels too. With the cleaner forcibly trying to remove it from my wifes sunbed. and they did seem not over helpful. Entertainment on site was minimal and indeed all in german so luckily my two sons entertained themselves around the very splendid pools that the hotel has, rather than listening to FRITZ. I would have to say though that if we do intend going back to Bulgaria for a holiday we would probably be staying in alternative accomodation that could be found in the english civilisation area of Sunny Beach. I think that the staff have mannerisms that you could possibly associate with German tourist (probably Not all that good!) - even in the town we were told by the shop keepers that they are glad we were English rather than German> Was this review helpful to you? YesNoDelta Beach HotelMike | 1 out of 1 found this review helpfulMy fiance and I stayed at this hotel from 22.07-05.08.2006. The rooms were very spacious and well-furnished, including a comfortable bed, a fridge, remote controlled air-conditioning, a TV with adult movies from 23:00-5:00 (but no English channels apart from Discovery), a large balcony (offering very little privacy as there were barely any sectional walls between balconies). We managed to book a room with a sea view -511. Apart from the room however, this hotel and the services provided were absolutely unacceptable. The staff were plainly rude to hotel guests and unresponsive ([+]view more) to their needs. On one occasion the maid had taken towels from out room, and for three days we had absolutely no towels. After calling the reception 3 times, we still didn't get any towels. When I decided to get a fresh batch of towels from the maid's room on my own (approx 10-15 for the remainder of our two-week vacation), the only English-speaking blonde receptionist called me a "jungle animal" when we were checking out of the hotel. She claimed that because of the "extra" towels used by us the hotel had incurred costs exceeding 100 LEVA, and demanded that I pay her 20 LEVA immediately. When I decided to voluntarily pay her 12 LEVA to cover the supposed "additional expenses", the lady went frantic in front of other hotel guests repeatedly showing me the "hand". Now how's that for service with a smile. The other staff at the hotel weren't friendlier either. The bar tenders simply groaned when giving out drinks (virtually throwing them at you). But the worst thing about this hotel is the food and a total disregard for hygiene. Although breakfast offered some variety, we had the same food served for lunch and dinner day in and day out (only the sauce varied). This included baked chicken, meatballs (looked disguisting), veal in slimy sauce, peas, corn, mashed potates, rice and greasy fries, and a dish called "mish-mash", which supposedly is a traditional Bulgarian meal consisting of srambled eggs and food left-overs (didn't try it). The only thing that was edible were the salads (with plenty of feta cheese), though they mostly consisted of tomatoes and cucumber. Regardless of what you hear from your travel agency, meals are served from 7:00-9:30 (breakfast), 12:00-14:00 (lunch), and 18:30-21:00 (dinner), and that's it. There are no meals in between, so the so called "all-inclusive" package is a total scam. Drinks are served from 10:00-23:00, and consist of watered down Cola, Sprite, Fanta, Tonic, Water, Vodka, Gin, Rum, Whiskey, Wine, Beer, Mint Liquor (disguisting), Mastika, Vermut (Sweet, Semi-Dry) and that's it. Depspite the fact that the our offer stated "all local drinks are inlcusive", there was a notice at every bar listing the "includive drinks". As far as hygiene is concerned, our rooms were merely tidied by the maid and not cleaned. The sheets were changed only once during our two-week stay, and we later learned from the hotel manager that the hotel changes towels twice a week. And they call themselves a 4 star hotel! Our room was vacumed on one vacation and the sink was left virtually untouched by the maid, despite deliberately removing our things from the shelf to see if the maid would take action. The elevators are not air-condtioned and probably lack any ventilation (they reak of BO and stinch) and are incredibly slow -we are only aware of two elevators for the entire hotel. The paint covering on the ground floor is cracked in certain places probably becuse of flooding in Sunny Beach in early July 2006. To sum up, Sunny Beach has one of the nices beaches I have ever seen (with a good supply of tanned and almost naked bodies) (and the Red Sea is absolutely magnificent - 26C), and the main boulevard offers a variety of restaurants, pubs, discos (i.e. the LAZUR - the best place for a "quickie" date;) and other attractions. Although I would definitely want to visit Sunny Beach again , I sure as heck will never stay again at DELTA BEACH" RIP-OFF" Hotel. My recommendation would be to stay at a 5 star hotel in the center with HB, and to try out the food and drinks at the local pubs along the main boulevard (which offer a great variety and are really cheap).
