This is the best hotel i have stayed in. I have always stayed in 4* accomodation up until now. Usually in Spain or Canary Islands. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the rooms were large, modern and well designed. The bathrooms were large and had a bath and a large seperate cubical shower. Rooms heat and air con system were automatic or manual for your own preference. Safes were also in each room. We had a lovely side sea view room and heard no street noise. Staff were always polite and courteous and did their best to help you at all times. The pool area was nice and the pool itself was well maintained and plenty of staff regularly patroled ([+]view more) the pool area. Will definately be returning to the Hotel Admiral.

An absolutely first class hotel with service to match. We found all staff to be very efficient and friendly. Safety deposit boxes were in the room and free, the sun loungers were also free if you produced your hotel card. We have already booked for 2005.

The Admiral Hotel is possibly the most luxurious in Golden Sands. Although most websites and tour operators promote it as a 4* hotel it is in fact 5*.
We had a fantastic time in the hotel, only problem being we could only get a 'park' view room which was more of a nightclub view as it is directly below. Make sure you get a sea view room. Another top tip is that you can upgrade your at the hotel to a studio room for around 20 lev a night that works out around 7 pounds.
The Deco is slightly nautically themed and the hotel itsself is spotlessly clean with some fantastic facilities such indoor poor and health treatments.
The rooms ([+]view more) are quite big with balcony, table and chairs. The main feature of the room is the lighting design with some fantastic backlit lighting behind the bed and dressing table. Another point to mention is there is a dial beside the light switches as you enter the room that looks like a volume control. It took us a few days to work out what it does, it controls a speaker in the bathroom that lets you listen to whats on the TV.
The bathroom has the disapointment of not having a bath and only a shower, maybe the the upgrade rooms have one im not sure.
Another point to note is that you have to pay for your sun lounger at the hotel pool which was new to me. Appartently this is because guests of other hotels can use your swimming pool and vice versa. We never used our hotel pool instead we used The Sirena which is the hotel beside the Admiral. It was bigger with 'kids' slides and 3 or 4 separate pools of different depths, plus it has a swim up pool bar.
Golden Sands resort was a lot larger than expected with in my opinon 2 separate main areas; the beach promenade and the street with pubs and clubs, a 15 minute (uphill) walk away.
Very Clean resort with OK food, would recommend La Bamba, Parmy's and my favorite The Old Lighthouse. Good Entertainment.
For Clubs head to Bonkers not very impressive looking but good vibe. More a 5* night out got to GILDA a night never to forget with a fantastic show. Keep an eye out for the tap dancer!
Maybe will return to Golden Sands if so deffinately before it becomes any more commercialised and before the louts discover it, Will definately return to Bulgaria but somewhere quieter perhaps Albena or Neesebar.

This year my family and I went to golden sands, bulgaria, and we stayed in the admiral hotel. although it was a nice hotel, the staff were not too polite. also if you are wanting to sit by the pool, you need to make sure you get your towels on a sun lounger at around 7:30am
