Stayed at this hotel in September 04, yes it was basic, and the food wasn't too brill, but it was still good value for money. I found that the hotel rooms were cleaned regularly, the staff helpful, we have booked for next year, with friends who came this year with us. Look at next years brochure for the refurbishment. This hotel is a great location for ammenities can't wait for next year.

have just returned from sunny beach ist visit there and we were very impressed. Ok so the hotel is basic but u get what u pay for and we found it to be clean good room service and after all u only use it as a base not to live in 24/7. Julian n stella in the crazy bar were very friendly as were all bulgarian people.

First holiday to Bulgaria me and my girlfriend. First thoughts on the hotel was very very basic, bathroom, 2 single beds and balcony with basic furnishings. What can you expect from a 2* hotel, it was a dump but livable. The weather was fantastic went on the 28th of June to 12th of July food and drink very cheap. The hotel is run down and please I must stress dont fit more than 5 people in any 1 lift as we got stuck at the bottom and was trapped in the lift for about 30mins sweating as it was hot and very scary. Staff are ok and the outside pool got cleaned once whilst we were there in the 2 weeks. It started to go from a blue colour to green and ([+]view more) most probably explains why I had a bad ear infection when I got home. The resort itself is the best lots of entertainment and nightclubs for people like myself. Planning on going back next year round about the same time but a 3* plus hotel is essential.

stay away!!!!! spent 3 sleepless nights with 2 kids. first 3 days were a nightmare, hotel was filthly. Music blaring till 6 am only to start again at 9 am, continuous hard core rap. Changed to fiesta beach cost 400 euro extra but worth every cent. a lovely new hotel great staff excellent facilities. Sunny beach itself is a great resort with something for everyone. have plans to go next year but MARITZA HOTEL should be demolished fast!!!!

an absolute PIT. THE ROOM WAS FILTHY, SEWERAGE IN BATHROOM, MATTRESSES FILTHY AND PILLOWS. DECOR SO OLD AND UNKEPT, VERY DISSAPPOINTED, WASTE OF MONEY. BULGARIA BEAUTIFUL AND THE PEOPLE, WILL GO BACK BUT TO BETTER ACCOMODATION.

The hotel was not nice some staff better than others, rooms not very clean beding changed twice wkly and towels every third day. Plenty to do around hotel. The gyspy camp far better than Khans tent and a lot cheaper. DO NOT go to Varna waste of your time. But visit Nessebar that was lovely. All in all Sunny Beach was a lovely holiday and definetly would go back. But to a different hotel. VERY CHEAP!!

The hotel was terrible the rooms werent a very good standard andthere was a hole in the bathroom floor you didnt get clean towels every day and the sheets on the bed were only changed 1ce a week but there were some good bars there was one called francos it was excellent the staff there are very friendly and the drinks are cheap.

I thought the hotel was excellent it was 1 of the best holidays ive ever been on the pool was realy clean and the beach was great im hoping 2 go there again nextyear.

we stayed there in July/Aug 2002..very basic..I thought it was clean enough..the only bad thing for us was no air conditioning..and if you kept the windows open at night the pubs around were a bit loud..that said the staff were helpful and very friendly and its in a good location with pubs and cafe's near by ...and a short walk to the beach.

Basic but clean. Staff warm friendly and extremely helpful. Corner Pub good atmosphere and so cheap. happy hour 8pm to midnight every night. Location great, pleasant walk to beach and pool good. Gypsy camp to rear of hotel no admission and a better night than Khans Tent, A must go night out. Resteraunt opposite good as are many in close proximity. New water park well worth a visit 14 lev return taxi from outside hotel and 20 lev each entry fee. We are going back to Sunny Beach next August. WORD OF CAUTION ASK OTHERS WHERE TO CHANGE MONEY THERE ARE PLACES WHERE YOU WILL BE RIPPED OFF LEGALLY.

i was there a week ago today! it was the best holiday ever ! i loved the hotel maritza :) very basic but very clean...staff are very nice! i am defo going back it was amazing i would recomend it to anyone who doesnt mind the hotel being very basic!!

I agree with alisha, my husband and i were dumped here when our tour operator had messed up, it was only for one night but what a night the room was disgusting the staff were unhelpful.  The smell in the room was rancid. we had a balcony but could not open the door as it was locked and no key was available. The conditions in this hotel were appauling.  AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!

what a joke stayed here late september 2002 this hotel is a discrace very dirty hired a cot for my 11 month old daughter chipped dirty cot with no mattress a woolen blanket instead for her to lye on it is like the hotel from hell how the other person can comment and say it is clean i dont know i have pictures that i will try and put on very very dirty the mattresses were discusting load of people where complaing and asking to be moved DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL IT WILL RUIN YOUR HOLIDAY WE MOVED TO THE PALACE 3 STAR MUCH BETTER or better still there is one called the victoria 5 star very nice but the hotel maritza should be knocked down it is that ([+]view more) bad i feel sorry for anybody who is going to stay there.

A basic hotel, but clean, based in a busy part of Sunny Beach, surrounded by many pubs and restaurants.  The hotel has a nice bar and pool with a bar adjacent to the hotel, which is also owned by the same people.  Staff at the hotel are very friendly, particularly Alex the sexy barman, and Miro the porter.  Although the hotel does lack facilities, I would recommend it, simply because of its location and the friendly people.  I must warn you though, Chris, the Manager is a nutter and likes the ladies, so BEWARE.
