We've just returned home after a week at Hotel Atlas in Bulgaria. It was our first time at this particular hotel but our third trip to Bulgaria. Thank for yet another great vacation. And a special thanks to all staff at the hotel (cleaning, reception and restaurant). We had a wonderful week and are already looking forward to next year! K & P

just returned from 2 weeks holiday at the atlas. we were all inclusive but were treated like 2nd class guests only a handfull of drinks were available to us. the food served was cold or not cooked properly and the restaurant staff were rude ignorant and arrogant. on the positive side the atlas was in a good location and clean the maid service was excellent and the entertainment staff were great kept me and the kids entertained all day. spoke to other people there and i think bed and brek was the way to go .

hotel was clean and tidy, it has a modern design but a cheep finish feel. The restaurant staff were rude. They wouldn't stop staring at us, but offered no assistance of any kind. Wouldn't recommend going to golden sands after the second week of Sept as everything start to close down and the weather was poor. Holiday itself wasn't bad though as had good company and met a few German people who were very funny in the muppet kareoke bar (which is very good, definatly go there!) The best place to eat is a place with no name!i ts just called pub and bar and next year is probably going to be called the Ivan bar. it is amazingly brilliant for food. the hotel ([+]view more) food was pretty poor, same things all the time, not kept hot enough and. The resort has a really bad problem with hookers on the main street, which is right at the back of the Atlas hotel. Most of them do leave you alone when you say no thanks, but we encountered some that were very aggresive and even spat at us. We heard of an English couple with a 10yr old son who was being offered sex at 3pm. The tour operators really need to preasure the resort to solve this problem as it would stop us from going again and i suspect many others also.

This hotel is the best one to stay at in Golden Sands. It is very new, very clean, kept clean and well placed. The staff are wonderful. Enough good english to enjoy a good joke, and helpful at all times. Have some Levs (40?) for TV remote and safe key when you check in. The pool was excellent, the sunbeds not that much of an issue. Yes, there are more germans than brits, but some of the worst behaviour I saw was by my compatriots - brutish british. The Danes were beautiful. The germans fun to watch. The welsh were very freindly, and the dutch so 60's , man. The bulgarians were, on the whole, really lovely. A bit commercial, okay, everything is for ([+]view more) sale! The tarts were everywhere after dark, holding my wife's/sons hand didnt deter them pulling my shoulder as we walked past. Some of them were very attractive. Some. Dunno how much - my wife stayed Vclose!
My 12yr old son liked the waitresses (short skirts!) I was tongue-tied by the girl on the exchange desk. Engin, a fine waiter, made us feel at home for 13 nights solid - working hard for his tips, yes, but after that was dealt with his presents as we left were touching. Thanks Engin. I really Wouldnt stay anywhere else if I were you. The food was a bit bland, perhaps. If I had a critisism the hotel needs to provide more for guests in the evenings. There were a few shows but our 10 to 12 yr olds would have loved a disco, not just a conga. More to do please, and this will keep us from straying 200feet into town. And it isnt a hot red light area, there are children even in Bonkers night club, but yes there are lots of things for sale.

1st impression was very clean friendly hotel. Rooms a bit small for a family (although they do have larger family romms but the germans got these just like the sunbeds!!) The sunbeds did have towels on them very early but there are signs saying do NOT reserve them, so if no-one there take the towels off!!
Food was excellent something for everyone- kids club was aimed at younger children although if they enjoy painting then they will be ok.
Pool very clean and the slides kept the older ones happy. Close to aqua-park and well worth a visit - go by taxi much cheaper and they will collect you at you choice of time. Close to Bonkers night-club ([+]view more) but not at all nosy-but there alot of night ladies around dont leave men unacompanied!!
We went 16th aug and had a couple of dull days but when the sun came out it was lovely not too hot to sit in.
My last comment is that it is a very German hotel and they DO NOT que for anything be prepared to push for what you want, food, lift, water-slides.etc. Kids picked it up in no time!!
But really good hotel overall.

The Hotel was lovely very posh and they kept it clean at all times however the pool was too small for the size of the hotel and the sun beds did keep getting reservered i kept having to get up at 6.30 to get a bed and still half of them were still taken. the food was horrible it was the same throughout the two weeks and the meat was raw. they spent more time making decoration than actually cooking the food. also no entertainment in the hotel. i wouldnt say it was 4*
