Hotel in Albena, Bulgaria
we have just returned the best part of our holiday was to come home the food was not fit for anything the best thing about magnolia was it was clean the staff were rude and disliked children. i will not be returning to bulgaria again.
I have just got back from a week at this hotel...
The staff were superb, very friendly, attentive, and helpful! the food was very nice, always cooked properly, with a vast range of meals available, changing daily. The hotel was very very clean, and only 5-10min stroll to the beach, or a free bus was available! The pool was gorgous, and there was entertainment all day and night with the Animation team - they made my holiday!!
I am so glad I went to this resort, and will certainly be visiting here again as soon as possible! I would recomment this to everyone, families, elderly, couples, singles - brilliant!
just got back from this hotel thank god we ended up with food poisoning after the 1st 3 days as food was discusting reheated left overs never met such rude bar staff ever they always said no to everything u asked for or they had ran out the pool was good and the reception staff poco loco is excellent as we were eating out every night the hotel is not for british people infact everyone either went home a week early as for us we just made the most of it around the pool in the day poco loco for entertainment in the evening good luck if u are going there
We had originally booked for the Hotel Panorama but were told that it had closed for refurbishment and that we were going to the Vita Park, but on arrival were told that we were going to be staying at the Magnolia. As hotels go, it was in a nice location and the rooms were very comfortable and clean, the linen and towels changed on a regular basis. The one down side was the food which was absolutely terrible, I lost 6lbs in the week and I only weigh 8 stones usually! The other down side as far as we were concerned, was the cheap horrible booze offered with the all inclusive deal. It was enough to put you off booze for life. We ate out most nights as a result and we enjoyed Albena and Bulgaria. We might go back one day but not to that hotel although I think that the food in Bulgaria is not that great anywhere you go.
first of all on arrival at the hotel, we were informed the restaurant, was closed and food was placed in our rooms. this consisted of a sandwhich with one peice of cheese on stale hard bread and a bottle of warm water, with that we went to the reception to get a soft drink, only to be told you cant be given nor buy anything after 11 am, after asking 3 times we were informed the receptionist was not trained to push the button on the drinks machine. then to make things worse they had ran out of water. so alltogether a great start to a worse week. when we booked the holiday with thomas cook for an allinclusive holiday at hotel magnolia the folling information was on the web page: international entertainment in sister hotel, an la cart menu one night a week (booked 24 hours in advance) international buffet, and sat t.v. none of which was true, we were told that this was last year, and no longer exsisted, in which case we were on the wrong holiday. however we did get : rude bar staff who loved to use dirty cups and glasses, spagetti and brock, stale mouldy bread non exsistance coffee, we stoped eating in the hotel the food was that bad. you will be charged for cocktails, weather they have any sprit in it or not, reception have no information on the area, nor does the rep. we hired a car and went everywhere on our own, best thing to do. we cannot complain about the hotel room it was very clean, smartly turned out, the resort its self is very beautiful, beach ,stunning, bars in the town great we found a great bar poco loco great food, and everywhere very cheap, if you go to varna what out for pickpockets we caught them, with their hands in our bags.
