Dave Currie | 3 out of 3 found this review helpful We stayed at the hotel for two weeks early July 2005. The staff were friendly and helpful although not much English was spoken. Can't blame them for that - we spoke no Bulgarian at all! In spite of that, we were able to communucate without much problem. The rooms were basic but clean, reasonably spacious and serviced well each day by very cheery cleaners. We recommend taking the air-conditioning option (not standard in every room). It was nice to have a cool room to come into on the really hot days. Hotel location (depending on what you are looking for) suited us well. ([+]view more) A couple of minutes strole to the beach, which was long and sandy with a host of beach bars and restraunts en route. Go for bed and breakfast only in the hotel. The breakfast is 'continental' buffet style, not great - but adequate. The dinner looked much like the breakfast (and possibly was) and we never tried it as there are so many eating and drinking places all around. The food and local drink is so cheap that it is not worth paying for 'half-board' in the hotel. The swiming pool is secluded and has a bar with friendly bar-man. There is a small charge for the sun-beds and umberellas, but not a problem. The pool area was never very busy which is great if you want a nice quiet drink and sunbathe. There is quite a lot of noise from the bars on the beach front at night (a couple of hundred meters away) but we didn't hear it once we were in our room. There is a certain amount of construction work going on around the hotel, but it is not noisy. More entertaining really. There are three guys hand building something next door and they are really relaxed about doing it. It may be finished in 20 years! There was no entertainment in the hotel while we were there, and young kids may not be to happy as there is no play-room etc.
We liked the location. It is at one end of the town (the new town) and the area - old and new town - is small enough that you can comfortably walk anywhere within about 20 minutes. We would very much recommend the hotel if you want to be close to the beach, bars and shops without actually being right in them.
We would stay at this hotel again quite happily (family of four, ages 53, 44, 17 and 14).
