Obrochishtejohn mcgonigle | 1 out of 1 found this review helpfulmy wife and i bought a house in obrochishte, i am very glad we bought here after driving around most of bulgaria looking for some where nice to buy. The village is very central for nearly everthing we like (5kms from the sea, 8kms to the nearest super market and 20kms to 3 great golf courses) the people in the village are so friendly and we have made lots of friends. The village has 1 hotel called th rai, which is great value for money with a lovely outdoor pool and a keep fit room also a tennis court at the back, well worth a visit or a stay. Was this review helpful to you? The manager was the nice, but the receptionists talk in spanish about you, and we have had some problems with maids borrowing iPods, PSP's, and certain items of clothing. The apartments are very dirty and the pool was disgusting. We found an old man sleeping in our bath when we returned and the beach is a 8 mile walk.
Horrible place. Staff are unpredicatable. Avoid at all costs. Was this review helpful to you? YesNoObrochishteBartels | 1 out of 1 found this review helpfulWe have been on holiday twice now to this wonderful village. We stay in the Hotel Rai and find the owners lovely, friendly people. We love the peace and quiet of the village and the villagers are all so friendly and welcome you. We feel very safe here and the children are also very friendly and very keen to learn English.
We will definately keep visiting this area. Was this review helpful to you? YesNoObrochishtejane powell | 1 out of 1 found this review helpfulwe have just bought a house and some land in Obrochishte, its a really beauitiful village and the people seem very nice and its so close to everthing !

Only 4-5 kilometres from Albena 7. Vit street. Nice family and nice place!! I know because I have been there many, many times since 1993.Was this review helpful to you? YesNoObrochishteLen Smith | 2 out of 2 found this review helpfulI have bought a house in Obrochiste, allthough it is not what you would call a holiday destination the village is only minutes from the resort of Albena which has everything you could want, beach shops, market stalls, and you would never manage a pub crawl in two weeks. Obrochiste itself is a typical Bulgarian village with its own small shops and a couple of bars (only small) not for a night out, it took me awile to find some of the shops as they are down little side streets bur there is most thing,s for day to day living and DIY jobs. The people are something else I have never met people with so much freindliness ([+]view more) in them, nothing is to much trouble for them to help you ,we had neighbours coming introducing themseves with a present of some sort. You feel as if they really want you there, at the moment the house is only a holiday home or investment but I can see no reason why we cannot retire there, it is another world to watch these people and see there everyday life, we can walk around with no fear, with donkeys and goats ect, sharing the road with you it is great but not if you want to keep up with Joneses, but it is if you want value for money and apprieciate Genuine people, we originally wanted to end up in Spain but it got to expensive, I am glad we looked at Bulgaria
Drawbacks are Flights it is not so easy to get to the coast at the moment but they tell me this will improve, also the weather (summer does not last as long Spain the seasons are much the same as England but the summer is summerwarm and sunny I was there in late March and it was T shirt weather then and it goes on untill Late Sept. I would recomend it to anyone and try the village life, especially on the coast areas. I did a full tour of the country and found the area north of Varna to be the best to suit me the country inland can be a bit isolated. Allthough the village of Obrochiste is O/K to live in we are only minutes from Albina 5 mins Balchik 15 mins Varna 30 mins airport 40 mins. Was this review helpful to you? YesNo
