Comments for Gergana Hotel Albena
Albenasally cundall | 2 out of 2 found this review helpfulwe had two weeks at this hotel august 2006 and we liked it very much, it was our first time in Bulgaria our two grandchildren of 6 & 8 loved it and are waiting to go back there next year. The hotel food was great, we did'nt like some of the different places in the town for food. Shopping was great. The grandchildren loved the different shows each night, its a lovely place for a family holiday. PS. We were on the first floor and often left thigs out to dry and we never got anything stolen. Was this review helpful to you? We asked for a safe on the night we arrived and were told to ask again the next day, which we did, only to find it broken into a few hours later, leaving us with no money, phones, psp or camera. Everyone refused to help, told us basically that it was tough!!! We were made to pay for our phonecalls home to cancel cards and phone contracts. The food was disgusting and although we tried hard to enjoy the rest of our holiday the staff made sure we couldn't. I wouls not advise my worst enemy to go here. Its still all ongoing now!!!! Weve been home a month. The only good thing was thefriends we made. Was this review helpful to you? YesNoAlbenaGill Kendrick | 2 out of 2 found this review helpfulWe've just returned home from a superb 2 week stay at this hotel. Full marks for everything except for the third bed (sofa bed) which was very uncomfortable and noisy). Food excellent, staff friendly, room great (worth paying for a sea view.)
Right on the beach. About a 20 minute walk to the centre of the resort, but a small train or taxi will take you there very cheaply. Built for tourists the resort has lots to do, but isn't rowdy. Everything quite cheap can get a meal for 4 for £20 including a couple of bottles of wine! if you want a relaxing beach holiday that is value for money - this is the one!Was this review helpful to you? YesNoAlbenaAnneMaree Pascoe | 2 out of 2 found this review helpfulMy 2 boys (12yrs & 9yrs) and I stayed for 1 wk B&B at the wonderful Hotel Gergana in August. We could not fault it. Breakfast varied and plentiful - boys loved the freshly made pancakes! Rooms cleaned daily. We paid extra for a seaview and boy it was worth it to view this every morning. Staff very helpful and friendly. Animation team lively and offer a varied agenda both poolside and on the beach, that is right on the door step - Petya especially great. Evening menu fab however can also catch the 'Noddy train' for 2 LV each into centre of Albena where there is a Bazaar and lots of restaurants. Weather great 28-32 with welcoming breeze. My one warning - mozzies! Bulgaria definitely worth a visit. Was this review helpful to you? YesNoAlbenaS.Donovan | 2 out of 2 found this review helpfulWe spent two weeks here in August, 2006 and had a lovely stay. Although the rooms were small compared to what we're used to in Ireland, they were clean and the showers were strong and hot. I agree with a previous comment that the beds were very hard. However, the hotel outside our room was fantastic, clean, and all staff were very friendly. We found the food very good and the buffet had great choices. We arrived with only b&b arranged, but it was so good we booked dinner for the rest of our stay. The dinner choices changed every night. A great location and nice and quiet. Great activities for the kids and fantastic entertainment ([+]view more) staff. I simple "no thank you" would send them away when they invite you to play any of the daily activities. Our First Choice rep was lovely and easily available in reception most days.
The resort of Albena was very nice, but pretty small. Not a place for party animals, but a super place for families and people like us just looking to tune out and relax for awhile. I would recommend it!Was this review helpful to you? YesNoAlbenadavid bennett | 2 out of 2 found this review helpfulwe really enjoyed the holiday but if you are on the 1st floor do not leave your towels or anything worth a lot of money because it will get stolen at night time this we know for a fact because aswell as our own getting stolen all the people on our row had towels stolent aswell. some of the staff are freindly but not all because when we reported about our towels and t - shirts they just laughed at us. also if you are going for a quiet holiday then you will not get it because if you settle on a sun bed all the entertainment start shouting and annoying you when you are asleep. i would not go back. We found it very clean and attractive and we had a great seaview room. The breakfasts were outstanding and were presented very good. My only critism is that the beds and especially the pillows were extremely hard. Otherwise it gets full marks. Was this review helpful to you? YesNoAlbenaSue & Carol | 2 out of 2 found this review helpfulMy firend and I stayed at the Gregana Hotel at the end of May of 2005. It must be mating season for the frogs in the nature reserve next door, and boy, do they make a noise! That apart, the hotel was good, the food was wonderful, and the beach is superb. We really liked the early or late sittings for meals, as we were touring and it was nice to have a choice. We used this as a base for a property search, so didn't see any of the animation, so can't comment, except to say that some of the other guests said it wasn't brilliant. Having stayed 4 times in different parts of Bulgaria, I consider Albena the 'Jewel in the Crown', and I enjoyedAlbena so much that I will be going back in October. Was this review helpful to you? The hotel is first class and always aim to please so never worry about that. Also they have there own shop with lovely girls always willing to provide good service - who work long hours and deserve more praise. I will definately be going back!

Love Bulgaria. Was this review helpful to you? YesNoAlbenaTojo Melville | 2 out of 2 found this review helpfulI have just returned from two wonderful weeks at this lovely hotel. I didn't want to leave and hope to book for whole family for next year. The photographs do not do it justice, the real thing is much better. The Animation team were terrific and never repeated a show during the two weeks. They even had me doing water aerobics and enjoying it. The appetizing food has ruined my diet but was worth it.
I loved the village public transport. the toytrain and I took myself off for a round trip. Was this review helpful to you? YesNoAlbenadave hazzard | 2 out of 2 found this review helpfulwe stayed in gergana for 2 weeks and had an excellent time. Animation team are very good and they will make you participate in the games even if you dont want to. The food is a little repetitive but nice with it, definetly try the meat that the chef carves in front of you it is wonderful. When you visit the lobby bar Nasko and Lussi will cater for all your needs they are very nice people who will always have time for you.Was this review helpful to you? All rooms are very nice and clean, but I prefer definetelly those with a sea view. A little secret... Those suits on the west end of the coridor are fantastic! (I had the privilage to stay in one of them once) They are really spacious, with one huge room with 21'' TV, kitchen corner, one bedroom, 1 and 1/2 bathrooms, and 2 balconies... fabulous!!!Was this review helpful to you?
