Sergey | 1 out of 1 found this review helpful Hotel is very good! Your Miro the best barmen!!! Was this review helpful to you? Yes No Stephen Goldsmith | 1 out of 1 found this review helpful DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES STAY AT THIS HOTEL
During our stay there, there were at least seven break -ins including our room. These were, in our opinion, due to the doors and locks of the residents rooms not being “ fit for purpose”. The doors appeared to be made of thin plywood panels and the locks did not look very secure.
The condition of the doors and locks were not the only problem , the rear of the hotel grounds opened up on to the street, enabling “all and sundry” to gain access to the hotel and by-pass what was laughingly called the security guard. He appeared to be about 70 years old and was often found ([+]view more) in a drunken state and eventually got eh sack.
Security aside the staff were unhelpful and rude and the swimming pool was dirty. We actually like Sunny Beach and will be returning, alas not to this Hotel though.

Going back this year and there are at least ten of us going. Best value for money in the whole resort. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No Mr Nolan | 1 out of 1 found this review helpful Just spent a week in Azurro me and my girlfriend could not find any problem with the staff or the cleanliness of the hotel. towels were changed every 2 days and if you speak to staff politely the will try and help you as much as they could. would definatley go back to same hotel as it is right in the middle of shops/restaurants/pubs. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No jackie ward | 1 out of 1 found this review helpful I stayed at the azzuro hotel for 2 weeks in august 2006 with my 2 children, my friend and her child and another friend. I do not understand the comments of other people who have stayed there. We found it to be excellent value for money. The rooms were cleaned daily, and sheets changed once a week, towels every 3 days. There were always cleaners around cleaning the pool area and rooms. The hotel breakfast was plentiful, with a large choice. The azzuro restaurant good value with good food. The staff were always nice to us. If you listen to your rep they will tell you that the bulgarian people are quite abrupt by nature, but they were ([+]view more) certainly not rude. Over all we had a fantastic holiday and i will definately visit bulgaria again and will almost certainly return to the azzuro. I definately recommend the Havana restaurant at the rear or the hotel, and the picadilly near by. Watch out for the sudden rain though!! Was this review helpful to you? Yes No stu and annette | 1 out of 1 found this review helpful Cleaners did not change bedding or towels. Staff only worked at their own pace.........very slowly!! but given the temperatures and the beating sun who can blame them. Pool was good but majority of sunbeds were broken. 24 hour bar more than made up for any problems this is probably the reason why we cannot comment on the quality of the breakfasts. Highly recommend the barbeque Azurro which is located in the grounds food and drink very cheap and of high quality. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No Ryan | 1 out of 1 found this review helpful please please please do not go to azurro im here now on my second week and i want to go home 3 star??? more like minus 3, the cleaners mop the carpets the bedding has been changed once only in this week, and i dont think they have ever heard of clorine in the pool. the bar staff huff and sigh wen u ask them for a drink. not very helpful at all and the rooms remind me of the things my trainers come in. stay away from azurro the other 3 star hotels around the area are like 7 stars complexes compared to this rubbish skip, the area is good though. rosie | 1 out of 1 found this review helpful although slightly impersonal this hotel is average standard but in a great spot.
the staff are efficient and will deal with your needs on request.
watch out for the re serving of food.
put your towels and tooth mugs away immediatly as if you loose them or are deemed to have you will be charged unlikely amounts.
i would repeat though is in a perfect spot go see christopher in the lotus for your dinner, and mexico and franco's bars for all night partying

ann travis | 1 out of 1 found this review helpful my family and i have just arrived home from this hotel. when we arrived we had a shock it looked more like a pontins camp than a hotel. staff was very rude, bedding was filthy and this was on arrival. complaining was a waste of time, their reply was me not understand. but could understand when it was the money side of it. would return but definately not this hotel. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No jade | 1 out of 1 found this review helpful I have just returned from a week in Sunny Beach and had an amazing holiday. I had such a good time I am hoping to go back again at the end of August. There was a group of 8 of us both male and female all aged between 19 and 22. We stayed at the Hotel Azurro. It wasn’t the best hotel but it was fine for us. Very basic and rooms were small but they are only to sleep in and the pool was nice which was good. Beds and towels are only changed once a week which isn’t good! Hotel staff were very miserable but we had a lovely rep which made up for it! Our Thomas cook rep was called Chris and he was so friendly and a really good laugh. ([+]view more) He made sure we had a great holiday and gave us some good advice. We met a few of the other reps. Mike and Lucy were lovely and Tyrone seems like a good laugh!
We booked a couple of trips through Chris which were all really good. If you want a nice relaxing day after a few mad nights out I would defiantly recommend the boat trip. We also went on a jeep safari which was fun but I wouldn’t recommend doing what we did and go on the safari the day after going on the pub crawl! It’s not a good idea getting back to your hotel at 8am and then trying to stay awake on the jeeps. I would defiantly recommend the Thomas Cook pub crawl but be warned you will be drunk before you leave the 1st pub as they have rules and if you get caught breaking the rules you will be forced to down your drinks! All fun though!
We only went to one club during the week which was Iceberg and I would defiantly recommend you try it out. There is a band playing every night which play really good music. We had one of our best nights in Iceberg.
One of the other good things about Sunny Beach is you can’t spend your money!! It is sooo cheap! I only spent £230 in the week and £80 of that was on trips. I was taking out about £25 each night and that was for a 2 course meal with plenty of wine and then a full night out drinking! There are plenty of places to eat and we were impressed with most places we tried. I wouldn’t recommend Fenix as the service is terrible. We had some good nights in Amigos and the Happy Duck.
Overall I really enjoyed the holiday and would defiantly go back.

wayne & andrea | 1 out of 1 found this review helpful This Hotel as the makings of a BBC comedy, the rudeness of staff would make Victor Meldrew blush. Basil fawlty and Rupert Rigsby would have good foundation in claiming their accomadation was 5 star Hilton class in comparison to the Azurro. During our stay the bedding and towels where not changed once. We will return to Bulgaria next year but will read this web site first before booking an Hotel. Was this review helpful to you? Was this review helpful to you? Yes No Ann | 1 out of 1 found this review helpful Some of the staff gave the impresion that the guests were in the way. The rooms are clean and tidy but not enough storage space, I basically lived out of my bag. The sound profing in the rooms is very bad. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No Mrs Catherine McDonald | 1 out of 1 found this review helpful we have just come back from our holiday at the Azzuro and must say we were pleasantly surprised, the food was good, and the rooms were clean, so no complaints there, it is situated in the centre of everything so didn't need to go far for shops, beach, etc will go back again.
The only complaint is that the receptionist Angelina was very miserable and dour , maybe she could have a job change, as she never seemed very happy.
Mrs McDonald visited the azurro in the 5th..12th of Sept ..20005

Mrs Catherine McDonald | 1 out of 1 found this review helpful my husband and me are just back from a holiday in the Azurro Hotel and i must admit we were pleasantly surprised i'd heard so many different stories, however the only thing i would add is the receptonist ''Angelina'' not very pleasant at all, she should not have that job as i dont think she is suitable for it hardly ever smiled, also to remind folks that there is no lift for people, even although its only 3 flights its not suitable for the elderly, other than that we had a very pleasant stay and will go back to Sunny Beach but to a different hotel. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No janne | 1 out of 1 found this review helpful I just came home from the Azurro for my second visit at that hotel. I loved it last time and when we came to the hotel the staff recognized us and made a great welcome. I have only good thing to say about the hotel, staff food, pool. i was as satisfied as i were last year. I will come back to the hotel, that's for sure. And i will give you all the best place to eat...... Picadilly restaurant just beside the Azurro. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No laura | 1 out of 1 found this review helpful went middle of july and had a lovely time in sunny beach. hotel azurro was brilliant for the money we paid. pool was lovely, rooms were clean and tidy. only downside was the breakfast wasn't that nice but we weren't that bothered because food is really reasonable to eat out in restaurants. most pubs do happy hours that last for about 6 hours and you get BOGOF so you can get very merry for next to nothing! would definately go back and recommend hotel azurro Was this review helpful to you? Outside the hotel people were friendly and did all they could to help you. Hotel did not have any entertainment and on the one night it did it was in a different language. azurro was a decent standard hotel...rooms are a bit small. The staff there are pretty miserable, it always seemed a chore for them to help you or to order a drink. Make sure they give you back the correct change as they tried to con us just after we checked in, thinking we would be too tired to notice the new currency. Other than that the hotel isn't too bad, very good location as there is plenty round the area then the beach is in walking distance and the resort centre is about 20min walk.

Mike Tovar, Kiel | 1 out of 1 found this review helpful We have been in the Hotel Azurro in the last week of September 2004 and you could really see that they run down business for winter. The pool man was in Sofia I've been told (I never saw her and so I dont know if she likes it ;-) ) Well the morning swim was nice there where plenty of mouses swimming in the pool, giving you a nice company, to tell you the truth, they were not really swimming, they were floating Belly up. The color of the water says it very clear, stay off, it's not clean to swim. Than every second person in that hotel suffers from explosive diarrhea. I have no idea what from, I guess they wash the salad with the regular ([+]view more) water. All in all, we will not go there again, specially for safety reasons. The door locks of the room where just toys. And the rentable safe was in the Hall, wich is not comfortable The stuff was nice, no doubt about it, but 3 stars?? A pain in the neck were the Gipsys. They were begging aggressive in the Hotel area. Well this is not the fault of the Hotel. Another point is, the Area where the Hotel is located (Backside) there are so many different Restaurants and every single owner believes it is his mission to amuse the entire world with his kind of music from 09.00 am till 02.00 am. It is some kind of amusement to listen to ACDC, The Beach Boys, Sarah Conner and Elton John to the same time in a sound intensity of a starting Jumbo Jet, again this was not the fault of the Hotel, but better choose a room to the front of the Hotel. And neither the germans ( I am a german) nor the british shows this terrible behavior to reserve sunchairs in the early morning, but I guess the reason was, it was end of season. Beside that, some nice people from London told me what they payed for one week bed&breakfast. I could not believe it, cause for that money we had 2 weeks half board. So our poor neighbours from the "Island" were ripped off by their Travel Agent. (should have voted for the Euro I guess :-) ) Anyway we will go to Sunny Beach in August 2005, but choose a 4 Star Beachfront Hotel Was this review helpful to you? Yes No Roy | 1 out of 1 found this review helpful Good location, good breakfast, BBQ restaurant good food and fair live entertainment. cleanliness excellant. Disabled facilities, very very poor,( as is the whole of Bulgaria, in a wheel chair dont go) Its early in the season and sunny beach is a mess? This was no surprise as our agents kept us well informed.
Some of the Hotel staff seemed to be pi--ed off and showed it, overall 7 out of 10. Tip. Buy fags for coming home AT AIRPORT. 12 euros for 200 superkings (16 euros in sunny beach). A small torch might come in handy in some areas. Avoid money exchange touts on street YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF. Most imported spirits cheaper atairport. NO WINE AT AIRPORT>

The breakfast was quite good. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. The only drawback where I was concerned was that it was a wee bit away from the resort centre ( The Hotel Kuban ).

Kathleen | 1 out of 1 found this review helpful My parents and I (17) were in the Azzurro hotel last summer. Because of an advice we had only booked breakfast. Every evening we went to an other restaurant. Eating was very nice and cheap everywhere. The hotel was ok! The rooms were clean and nice (a bit small), the stuff was friendly, breakfast was ... ok! And you need only 5 minutes to the beach! We have enjoyed time at Sunny beach and will come there next summer second time!! Was this review helpful to you? Yes No
